Security Monitor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for monitoring clients of a residential recovery program for offenders. Persons in this position are expected to exercise good judgment in the implementation of the program for the center. Responsibilities include: headcounts, searches, inspections, control of residential movement, urine and breathalyzer testing, routing of documents, admits/discharges, and property handling.
REPORTS TO SHIFT SUPERVISOR
JOB DUTIES
Chief responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintenance of sign-in/out sheets in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Conduct regular and random documented resident counts.
- Conduct regular and random documented searches of residents and rooms.
- Initiate and document client admits and discharges.
- Conducting of documented breathalyzer and urinalysis testing.
- Initiate abscond procedures in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Control visitors in accordance with visiting regulations.
- Maintain order through implementation of regulations of resident conduct.
- Initiate removal/release of resident’s property in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Maintain daily log of events occurring during shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Shall have a high school diploma or equilvalent. Shall not currently, or within the past two years, be under the supervision of Federal, State, County, and/or City corrections department. Nor have any pending felony or misdemeanor chargers other than minor traffic offenses.
