Job Description:
Security Monitor

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for monitoring clients of a residential recovery program for offenders. Persons in this position are expected to exercise good judgment in the implementation of the program for the center. Responsibilities include: headcounts, searches, inspections, control of residential movement, urine and breathalyzer testing, routing of documents, admits/discharges, and property handling.

REPORTS TO SHIFT SUPERVISOR

JOB DUTIES
Chief responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Maintenance of sign-in/out sheets in accordance with policy and procedure.
  2. Conduct regular and random documented resident counts.
  3. Conduct regular and random documented searches of residents and rooms.
  4. Initiate and document client admits and discharges.
  5. Conducting of documented breathalyzer and urinalysis testing.
  6. Initiate abscond procedures in accordance with policy and procedure.
  7. Control visitors in accordance with visiting regulations.
  8. Maintain order through implementation of regulations of resident conduct.
  9. Initiate removal/release of resident’s property in accordance with policy and procedure.
  10. Maintain daily log of events occurring during shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Shall have a high school diploma or equilvalent. Shall not currently, or within the past two years, be under the supervision of Federal, State, County, and/or City corrections department. Nor have any pending felony or misdemeanor chargers other than minor traffic offenses.

Kansas City Community Center, Residential Recovery Center(RRC) Kansas City, Missouri.
